"The Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapsed primarily due to the aeroelastic flutter that was caused by high-speed winds that matched with the natural frequency of the structure. In other words, resonance is a phenomenon where the excitation frequency (the wind, in this case) matched with the natural frequency of the structure, leading to catastrophic failure. "
