Since its opening in 2007, Korea Model United Nations has consistently presented highly organized conferences with quality debate, realizing its motto, "Tradition of Excellence." Korea Model United Nations 2012 held with co-hosts 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit Preparatory Secretariat and Korea University Division of International Studies in January 2012 has been the latest in the succession of its increasingly well-run events. KMUN 2013 Secretariat is committed to continuing the tradition this winter in the 6th KMUN. To make KMUN 2013 become a memorable experience for all participants, we will engage in the preparation process with dedication and professionalism.

Mandatory requirements of student officers include:
Students who have been selected as student officers shall conduct the following roles:
All student officers will be required to participate in regular training sessions offered by the Deputy Secretaries-Generals in preparation for the conference. This rigorous training is intended to ensure a level of professionalism even from student officers without much MUN experience. The registration period of student officers is from October 8th to October 21st. Candidates wishing to apply for the position of a student officer will have to pass two evaluations. We are planning to first select potential student officers through in-depth assessment of their profiles. Select candidates will go on to have an interview with the Secretariat. After passing two procedures, you will be officially picked as the student officer of KMUN 2013 with notice from Deputy Secretaries-Generals by e-mail or phone call. Students who have been selected as student officers shall conduct the following roles:
1) Presiding over discussions: Student officers shall preside over the discussions of their respective committee following the correct rules of procedure and directions from the Secretariat. They shall try their best to lead a successful conference for the delegates.
2) Preparing guidelines for committee agendas: Student officers shall research thoroughly about the given agendas of their assigned committees in order to help the delegates prepare for the conference.
3) Organizing position papers: Student officers shall organize the submitted position papers to understand each representative's stance and facilitate the lobbying process among the delegates.
4) Preparing for the Delegate Workshop: With help from the Secretariat, student officers shall provide the delegates with basic information and training.
5) Promoting delegate participation: Student officers shall actively promote delegate participation for Korea Model United Nations 2013.
