1985년 발매된 'Brothers In Arms' 에 수록된 곡입니다. Dire Straits는 1977년 결성된 영국의 락 밴드로,  Mark Knopfler가 리드보컬을 맡고 있습니다. Dire Straits는 세계적으로 상업적으로 성공한 락 밴드 중 하나이며, 1억장 이상의 앨범 판매고를 기록하고 있습니다. 그리고 4번의  Grammy Awards, 3번의 Brit Awards, 2번의 MTV Video Music Awards 등 여러 상을 받은 밴드이기도 합니다. 이 곡은 미국, 영국 차트에서 3주간 1위를 차지했고, 특히 MV가 유명합니다. 처음으로 컴퓨터 애니메이션을 이용한 MV였고, 당시에 큰 충격을 주었다고 합니다. 그 결과 MV는 1986년  MTV Video Music Awards에서 "Video of the Year" 상을 받았습니다.
